YEONJIN KIM, CELLIST

Cellist Yeonjin Kim has featured as a soloist, chamber musician, and artist across the U.S., Europe and Asian countries. As an avid soloist and chamber musician, she has appeared on some of the world’s foremost stages, including Kennedy Center, Konzerthaus Berlin, Seoul Arts Center, Suntory Hall in Japan, to cite but a few.  She made concerto appearances with numerous orchestras in Cleveland, Ann Arbor, Breckenridge and Seoul. Her live performances have been broadcasted by many classical radio and TV stations in America, Japan and Korea.
       An acclaimed chamber musician, Ms. Kim appears as a member of Trio K, Hwaum Chamber, and Seoul Virtuosi in Korea. Her frequent festival appearances have included Aspen Music Festival, Montecito Music Festival, Austrian Vienna Music Seminar, Switzerland Sion Music Academy, Miyazaki Music Festival in Japan, MMCJ in Japan and Just Vivace Festival in Korea. She has collaborated with notable instrumentalist including Issac Stern, Joseph Kalichstein, Christopher Harding, Aaron Berofsky, Paul Schoenfield and Kyung Sun Lee.
As a dedicated teacher, she served as a guest faculty at University of Michigan and Oberlin Conservatory as well as an adjunct professor at Furman University. Her artist faculty appointments include Abilene Music Festival, Madeline Island Music Festival and Luzerne Music Festival. She also has been invited to give masterclasses at major schools and festivals including the Juilliard School, Wichita State University, Middle Tennessee State University, Kent State University and Ulsan University.
Ms. Kim’s multiple prizes and awards include the Sorantin International competition, Bossart Award, Dichler-Sato competition in Austria and Viva Hall competition in Japan.  Ms. Kim also served as a guest principal cellist of the Ann Arbor Symphony, Dearborn Symphony, Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra, Chungbook Philharmonic Orchestra, and National Repertory Orchestra. She also served as an assistant-principal of the Northwest Indiana Symphony and Asian Youth Orchestra.
Yeonjin Kim graduated from Seoul National University(BM) in Korea, Toho Gakuen in Japan, Cleveland Institute of Music(MM) and the University of Michigan(DMA) in the United States under the tutelage of Chung-Shim Baek, Ji-sook Shin, Ko Iwasaki, and Richard Aaron.
